What GLSTC Provides
Our state art of the art Hands-On Safety Training Lab allows students to experience real-world practical applications in a controlled environment, in addition to classroom learning. Hands-on training helps students achieve a higher level of knowledge and skill. Learning by doing ensures students will remember their safety training and use those skills to apply what they have learned in the field.
Hands-on simulations and other interactive training techniques play a critical role when conveying safety knowledge and demonstrating safe work behaviors in all work environments.
We offer a variety of hands on training including:
- Aerial Lift
- Confined Space Entry & Rescue
- Eyewash/Safety Shower
- Fall Protection
- Fire Extinguisher Safety
- Fork Truck Training
- Ladder Safety
At GLSTC, we value our community and strive to support it in many ways. As part of our mission “To Prepare People to Live and Work Safely Every Day,” GLSTC is proud to partner with these organizations to strengthen our community.
GLSTC is a proud partner with schools in the Midland, Saginaw, and Bullock Creek School Districts. In addition to these schools, GLSTC partners with the Greater Michigan Construction Academy (GMCA) to provide a general safety core curriculum, as well as provide safety awareness training and personal protective equipment.
GLSTC provides safety awareness talks annually to Midland County Habitat for Humanity during their build weeks. Habitat works with eligible families in Midland County through federal block grant funding and community donations to update and renovate homes in need of repairs.
Safety for the Kids
Through our “Safety for the Kids” program, we are able to provide scholarships to students pursuing a certification or degree in the trades, manufacturing, or construction with an emphasis on safety within the Great Lakes Bay region. We will award three $1,500 scholarships on an annual basis to eligible students.
The “Safety for the Kids” program is funded through generous donations from our members and businesses. This program allows us to provide safety training and safety gear to local schools as well as our scholarship program.
We have partnered with community foundations in the Great Lakes Bay Region to offer scholarships:
We look forward to helping students pursue and advance in their safety careers. If you are passionate about safety and would like to donate to our scholarship program, you may provide funds directly to the foundations or contact us.
We also provide Site-Specific Training, Online Training, and Background Checks. Please contact us for additional safety-related requests.
