Free Fall Protection Authorized User Training

Great Lakes Safety Training Center (GLSTC) is proud to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of the highly coveted Susan G. Harwood Grant from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This esteemed grant will enable Great Lakes Safety Training Center to offer free 4-hour Fall Protection Authorized User training to employers and workers in 2024. Only 100 non-profit organizations nationwide received funding from the OSHA Susan Harwood Training Grant Program this year. The complete list of grantees is available here: https://ow.ly/ihJW50POMwh

With the funding received through the Susan G. Harwood Grant, GLSTC will deliver comprehensive 4-hour Fall Protection training sessions free of charge to workers and employers. The training will include the hierarchy of fall protection, how to calculate total fall distance, the four components of a fall arrest system, how to properly don and adjust a full body harness and how to perform an inspection on fall arrest equipment. By offering this training at no cost, GLSTC aims to equip workers with the expertise needed to mitigate fall-related risks effectively.

Employers and workers interested in participating in the free Fall Protection Authorized User training sessions are encouraged to sign up for GLSTC’s Monthly Newsletter at www.glstc.org. The 2024 class schedule can be viewed here: FALL PROTECTION AUTHORIZED USER – Great Lakes Safety Training Center (GLSTC)

GLSTC, at the time of initial publication of this document (10.06.23), is funded by a grant of $78,383 federal funds, which constitutes 100% of the program budget.
